No Verified 24-Hour Arrest Feed
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office website offers no list of arrests from the last 24 hours, and no "recent bookings" page with person-level results exists on it. The tile marked "Arrests & Warrants" is the closest thing. It opens a civil-process page, not a jail roster. Older roster links from the prior site no longer load.
Same-day facts: a missing web page proves nothing. An arrest, booking, bond paperwork, transfer, or release can all happen with no public entry that day. Confirm a named person with JCSO or VINE.
Refresh times and posting delays can't be described. There is no feed to describe. Weekend cadence, record roll-off, and photograph display are all unknowns here, and this page offers no booking-photo gallery as a substitute.
Check Today’s Jefferson Bookings
Use this identity-specific process:
- Start at the current JCSO site, not an old bookmarked media URL. Confirm that a page belongs to the government custodian.
- Gather the full name, approximate booking date and time, arresting agency, and booking or incident number if known.
- Use JCSO’s Reports & Public Records Requests page. Ask for the booking record and photograph, if releasable, for the specific person and date range.
- For immediate custody, use the VINELink Custody Check. It is a status service, not a certified booking report.
- For filed charges and disposition, follow the Clerk route described in the county hub.
JCSO accepts records requests online, by mail, in person, or by telephone at (850) 997-2523. The records page lists 171 Industrial Park, Monticello, FL 32344. Weekday hours run 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Nothing else is guaranteed. Ask for an estimate before any special-service charge. No booking-photo fee or turnaround promise exists, so ask ahead.
Fields to Request for a Recent Arrest
These fields describe what to ask for, not what any website displays. Florida's records schedule backs each one.
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Full booked name and aliases | Separates similar names and spelling variants. |
| Booking number and date/time | Identifies one intake and the relevant 24-hour period. |
| Arresting and booking agency | Separates the officer’s agency from the jail custodian. |
| Charges as booked | Records intake charges that can later change. |
| Bond and release information | May explain whether custody continued. |
| Arrest time/place and officer | Helps locate related incident material. |
| Photograph, if releasable | Requests the record without assuming online publication. |
Florida's General Records Schedule GS2 describes a 24-hour commitment-and-release list. That list can hold the date, booking number, name, demographics, charge, and court. It can also show the arresting officer, bond, manner of release, and return date. It is a record category, though. Nothing in GS2 forces publication. It does not mean JCSO publishes such a list online.
The JCSO Legacy-Link Mismatch
The redesigned site carries current contact and request information. Its FAQ, though, still points to an old USA Software "Media Intake Report" whose URL returns a 404. A stale link proves nothing. The official JCSO FAQ shows the legacy reference alongside its other jail guidance.

Don't keep testing a dead endpoint. A fresh records request through the current sheriff homepage, which lists present navigation and contact points, is the safer path.

It's authoritative, but no same-day roster appears there.
Nixle Alerts Are Not Arrest Reports
JCSO points residents to Nixle for alerts. Sign up by texting 32344 to 888777 or registering through Nixle's site. It is a public-safety channel, not an arrest log. The sheriff does not claim that every arrest, booking, or booking photograph appears there. Its social account shows no daily booking cadence. Keep the tools straight. Nixle sends selected safety notices, VINE reports a matched custody status, and a JCSO request retrieves the booking record itself. Can a missing VINE result prove there was no arrest? No. A delay, a release, a spelling mismatch, another facility, or a system outside county coverage can all hide a result. Contact the official custodian when certainty matters.
Confirm a Delayed Arrest Record
Marie Rigdon serves as the records custodian. A focused request names the person, a short date range, the likely arresting agency, and any known booking number. Then ask for the booking record, the booked charge list, bond or release data, and a photograph if releasable. Delivery may be paper or electronic. JCSO decides based on the request's nature and volume. Any exemption gets identified in writing. For a wider time span, the Police Blotter guide covers news and archival routes, since Jefferson has no weekly official feed.
Monticello Police, JCSO, FHP, FWC, or another agency can make the arrest. JCSO keeps the county booking file regardless. Always list the arresting agency separately from the booking custodian. A later Clerk case may show filed charges, hearings, pleas, or disposition. Still, it is not the booking record. The two answer different questions.
A neutral request asks for "the booking record and booking photograph, if releasable," followed by the full name, approximate date range, arresting agency, and booking number. Add the booked charges, bond or release data, and a document naming the source agency. Asking for PDF or JPEG delivery may cut copying costs. Availability still depends on the record. Some material faces limits. Juvenile, victim-sensitive, sealed, expunged, or active-investigation content may be restricted or redacted under Florida law.
No photograph is promised free or within 24 hours. Florida public-records law allows reasonable duplication or special-service charges. An estimate matters for that reason. The Jefferson Clerk keeps a separate fee schedule, with a stated $1-per-page rule and time charges after the first 30 minutes for certain work. Those Clerk terms apply to court records, not JCSO booking records.
County Jail Versus Other Custody
A Jefferson County arrest does not always stay at the Jefferson County jail. Someone booked there can be released the same day. They can be transferred elsewhere or moved into Florida Department of Corrections custody after sentencing. Others are held in federal pretrial custody or detained by immigration authorities. That matters when you search. Each custodian keeps its own records. FDOC Offender Search covers state prison, supervision, absconder, and related corrections records, not people booked at the county jail today. BOP, ICE, and the U.S. Marshals run separate systems with separate coverage rules. Match the source to the custody question at hand. JCSO holds the booking records for the county jail operation. Florida VINE tracks participating custody status. The Clerk posts court events once a case is filed. A name missing from one system tells you nothing about another agency. A transfer never erases the original arrest record.
Booking Is Not Disposition
Booking is jail intake. Bond sets release conditions, while first appearance is an early court stage and arraignment brings formal charges and a plea. Disposition is where the case outcome gets recorded.
Felony paperwork can move from the jail to the State Attorney. That office decides whether to file formal charges. A charge listed at booking may change later. It can be amended, dropped, or left as history. No court case showing up right away can mean several things. Filing may not have happened yet. The name may be spelled differently, or the matter may be confidential. A quiet docket is not the final word on the arrest.
An Arrest Is Only an Accusation
Booking data changes over time. An arrest record can be corrected, restricted, sealed, expunged, or delayed. Check custody status separately from the charges shown.
Confirm the person's identifiers before treating a Jefferson County booking as a match. Common names can attach to more than one arrest record.
A booking photo is one identifying detail. Match it against the record held by the agency that made the arrest.
Florida's GS2 schedule explains why a same-day request should separate the booking file from later court paperwork. Booking records can hold a lot of detail. Intake cards, commitment documents, arrest affidavits, release forms, charge and referral data, the arresting or booking officer, and the time and place of arrest may all appear. Not every piece is public, though. Some elements are missing from certain Jefferson records, and the schedule creates no online feed. Naming the record series you want helps JCSO locate an existing document rather than pushing a demand for a custom arrest report.
